INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
• 1/4 cup and 3 tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour 55g
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1g
• 1/8 teaspoon salt 0.7g
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 0.5g
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 0.4g
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 0.7g
• 1 tablespoon and 2-1/4 teaspoons shortening 25g
• 1/4 cup and 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar 65g
• 1 tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon apple juice 20ml
• 1/3 cup chopped walnuts 25g
• 3 tablespoons and 1-3/4 teaspoons chopped apples 30g
• 3 tablespoons and 1-3/4 teaspoons raisins 30g

DIRECTIONS
This recipe’s Ingredients were scaled to yield a new amount. The directions below still refer to the original recipe yield of 3 dozen.
1. Cream together shortening and brown sugar. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt and spices until dampened. Stir until smooth. Mixture will be very thick.
2. Stir in nuts, apples and raisins.
3. Drop by tablespoon 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in a 400 degree F (205 degrees C) oven. Let cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet.

Conclusion
Hmm there was A LOT of fillings for this dough that made it very bulky. It tasted like a spiced cookie, with the right amount of sugar. It was crunchy on the edges and chewy in the centre. It was a very good cookie, though will cut down the brown sugar a bit next time.
